The short answer

Orca Crypto collects the minimum data needed to run an education website. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not require an account to read anything. Contact form submissions go to our email inbox through FormSubmit. Live price data is fetched by your browser directly from CoinGecko.

What we collect

When you submit a form. Your name, email address, the topic you selected, and whatever you write in the message. This is delivered to our email inbox and stored there so we can reply.

When you browse. Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which typically include IP address, browser type and pages requested. These are used for security and to keep the site running.

What we do not collect. We do not require an account. We do not run advertising or behavioral tracking. We do not build profiles of readers, and we never ask for wallet addresses, private keys or seed phrases.

Cookies and storage

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. The site uses your browser sessionStorage to briefly cache live price data so we do not request it repeatedly on every page. That data never leaves your browser and is cleared when you close the tab.

Referral links

Some outbound links to platforms are referral links. If you sign up through one, the platform may tell us that a referral occurred and pay us a commission. They do not tell us who you are or what you do on their service, and we receive no personal information about you from them.

Referral relationships are disclosed on every page where those links appear.

How we use information

  • To reply to your message and, if relevant, arrange a session
  • To keep records of sessions we have delivered
  • To keep the website secure and functioning

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed to operate.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are retained in our email while they remain useful for supporting you, and are deleted on request. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider under their standard schedule, typically a short period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us through the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable period.

We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the bottom of this page. Material changes will be noted clearly rather than made quietly.
